Hancom said on Thursday it will supply its in-house AI agent to LG AI Research’s generative AI platform, ChatEXAONE.
Hancom signed a strategic business alliance agreement with LG AI Research spanning AI technology, service platforms and the broader public and private markets.
The cooperation centers on integrating Hancom’s AI agent technology into LG AI Research’s ChatEXAONE service platform. The companies will push to develop an integrated solution combining Hancom’s AI agent capabilities with LG AI Research’s service infrastructure.
In the ChatEXAONE environment, Hancom’s document-writing agent will run and users will be able to immediately check the generated results through a web-based Hangul viewer. Hancom stressed the cooperation upgrades ties between the companies based on a memorandum of understanding signed in December 2024.
Hancom and LG AI Research will also step up plans to enter the public AI market based on the cooperation. They will jointly handle the entire process for public institutions, government ministries and state-run enterprises, from identifying business opportunities to winning contracts and delivering products, based on the combination of Hancom’s agent and ChatEXAONE.
Lim Woo-hyung (임우형), head of LG AI Research, said he expects strong synergy as K-EXAONE and Hancom’s document AI technology are combined. He said LG AI Research will lead government and public-sector AX projects based on two-way technology convergence and also contribute to securing South Korea’s AI sovereignty. Kim Yeon-su (김연수), chief executive of Hancom, said the agreement is a strong momentum for Hancom, which recently declared it is evolving into an Agentic OS company, to realize that vision. He said Hancom will cement market leadership by fusing its AI agent capabilities with LG AI Research’s large-scale AI technology.
