Database company TmaxTibero, also known as Tibero, said on Monday it has completed an “ERP system infrastructure environment upgrade” project for POSCO’s global units.
The project upgraded key business systems for POSCO’s overseas processing subsidiaries as well as its trade and logistics and secondary battery materials-related subsidiaries. It updated the overall IT infrastructure to the latest versions, including Tibero DB, Java, web application servers, frameworks, cloud servers and operating systems.
The upgrade is designed to help POSCO’s overseas processing subsidiaries across 6 regions — South Korea, China, Southeast Asia, India, the Americas and Europe — operate the same work system more stably based on standard processes. POSCO said closing process speed and user-perceived performance improved by more than 50 percent after the system upgrade.
Soon-bo Jeong, vice president at Tibero, said it was a meaningful result that proved the technical strengths and reliability of domestic database technology even amid complex, large-scale changes to global infrastructure. He said the company will continue to actively target the global market in the field of core corporate management systems based on its accumulated technical capabilities.
