[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] KB Financial Group said on Thursday it unveiled the financial sector's first senior care-focused "Physical AI" service using a humanoid robot at AI EXPO KOREA 2026, held at COEX in Seoul.

KB Financial, the only financial group participating in the event, introduced GenP, a humanoid robot it jointly developed with generative AI company GENON. GenP features upgraded functions including finger modules to enable precise movements tailored to senior care.

At the exhibition, GenP demonstrated a five-stage scenario: greeting visitors and recognizing the environment; providing guidance on rehabilitation schedules, weather and condition; responding to seniors' emotional and physical states; delivering medicine after recognizing medication time; and assisting rehabilitation movements and helping users stand.

It plans to pursue a four-stage Physical AI roadmap going forward, covering emotional and cognitive care, non-contact physical tasks, walking assistance and support, and full-body care.

KB Financial plans to pilot an AI care robot, Kebi, at KB Golden Life Care Jongno Pyeongchang County in July. Kebi is a small autonomous-driving robot that supports resident safety through emergency detection and alert functions. It also offers space guidance, concierge services and emotionally interactive conversation functions.

A KB Financial official said the group plans to verify, step by step, the feasibility of applying Physical AI at care sites and to continue expanding service scope and business areas. The official added it will focus its capabilities on building a senior life platform that links care, health, housing and finance.
