Hecto Financial said on May 8 it won the Financial Services Commission chairman's award in the ESG finance category at the 20th National Sustainability ESG Conference held on May 7.

Hecto Financial was selected for the award in recognition of its contribution to financial innovation through financial services built on digital payment and settlement infrastructure and its ability to process large-scale transactions reliably.

Hecto Financial provides integrated services across financial transactions, including payment gateway services, virtual accounts, easy payments, settlement and remittance. It also runs a payment and settlement platform business that connects companies and financial institutions in South Korea and overseas.

It is also expanding its work on building cross-border financial infrastructure linked to global payment networks and on research into next-generation payment and settlement structures based on digital assets.

Hecto Financial plans to pursue global remittance, payment and settlement services in line with the future institutionalisation of stablecoins in South Korea. It is participating in Circle's global payment network, CPN, as the only domestic payment partner, and plans to build a real-time remittance and settlement system using stablecoins based on that partnership.

Choi Jong-won (최종원), CEO of Hecto Financial, said, "It is meaningful that our achievements in sustainable finance and digital payment innovation have been recognised." He added, "We will work to enhance financial accessibility and build an inclusive financial environment based on stablecoins and global payment networks."
