Anthropic has unveiled 10 AI agents for financial services work. A fintech outlet, Finextra, reported on May 5 that the new agents comprise five for financial research and client coverage and five for finance and operations.
The research and client coverage agents are Pitch Builder, Meeting Prep, Earnings Review, Model Builder and Market Research. The finance and operations agents are Corporate Valuation Review, General Ledger Reconciliation, Month-End Close, Financial Statement Audit and KYC Review.
These agents can be used as plugins in Claude for Work or Claude Code. The templates run alongside users' desktop software and assist analysts. Companies can also run the same templates as Claude managed agents on the Claude platform. In that case, they autonomously handle tasks spanning multiple transaction books or work aligned to overnight schedules.
Claude operates directly as an add-in in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. In Outlook, it can sort the inbox, schedule meetings and draft replies matching the user's tone. In Excel, it builds financial models based on disclosures and data feeds, checks formulas in connected workbooks and performs sensitivity analysis. In PowerPoint, it creates materials that automatically update when underlying figures change, and in Word it edits credit memos to match company templates.
Anthropic partnered with FIS this week to develop a financial crime agent. It also set up a service-focused joint venture worth $1.5 billion with Goldman Sachs, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, with additional backing from Apollo and General Atlantic. The joint venture focuses on building customised agents with portfolio company engineering teams.
