Cloocus, a cloud services company specialising in data and artificial intelligence (AI), said on Tuesday it has signed a strategic partnership with global data movement automation platform company Fivetran and will strengthen its portfolio to help South Korean companies with data analytics and AI use.
The partnership comes as Fivetran begins official support for the Seoul regions based on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
Cloocus said it can now provide the Fivetran data integration service it has offered to some customers in a form with stronger stability and scalability through support for the Seoul region.
Cloocus said Fivetran is an ELT (Extract–Load–Transform) automation platform that automatically connects hundreds of data sources, including various SaaS, databases and file systems, to cloud-based data warehouses.
It automates change data capture, schema change management and pipeline monitoring to reduce manual maintenance. It supports securing data timeliness and reliability needed for analytics and AI use through 99 percent platform availability. It meets global security standards including ISO, SOC 2 and PCI, providing security and stability in enterprise environments. With the official support for the Seoul region, Fivetran customers in South Korea can store and process data domestically, meeting data sovereignty and regulatory requirements while securing improved data transfer performance and security.
Through the partnership, Cloocus plans to provide linked support, including PoC programmes, technical seminars and architecture design services, alongside Fivetran solutions optimised for customer environments.
Logan Welley, vice president of strategic partnerships at Fivetran, said, "The launch of a local cloud region in South Korea is an important milestone that shows Fivetran's continued investment and commitment to the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market." He added, "Through cooperation with Cloocus, we have been able to bring Fivetran's automated data movement platform closer to domestic companies for which data residency, regulatory compliance and performance requirements are important."
Hong Sung-wan, CEO of Cloocus, said, "Cloocus is a specialist company that has supported cloud-based data and AI transformation for customers across various industries." He added, "This cooperation with Fivetran will be an opportunity to combine automated data integration technology with Cloocus' capabilities to build data and AI platforms, helping customers build analytics and AI environments more quickly and stably."
