NCSoft said on April 29 it plans to release a mobile version of MMORPG "Guild Wars Reforged" this summer.
The mobile version of the game, being jointly developed by ArenaNet and Two Weeks, is set to apply a new user interface and control system optimised for mobile environments such as Android and iOS. Users who bought Guild Wars Reforged and have an ArenaNet account will be able to continue playing on mobile devices without an additional purchase. They can play on the same servers as on PC, with progress synchronised.
NCSoft will conduct a soft launch in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Philippines ahead of the mobile release. It also unveiled an update that adds new dungeons, quests and heroes to mark the original title's 21st anniversary.
Steven Clark Wilson (스티븐 클라크 윌슨), game director at ArenaNet, said, "We incorporated the deep experience we built while preparing Steam Deck support into developing the mobile version." He added, "What is especially notable is that mobile and PC users can play on the same servers and their progress is automatically transferred."
