[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Amazon Web Services (AWS) on April 28 unveiled Amazon Quick, a desktop AI app that automates a range of tasks, it said.

Amazon Quick runs in the background on a user’s computer and handles tasks at the same time, such as creating presentations, writing documents and generating images. It costs $20 a month and can be used without an AWS account.

Quick also integrates with major workplace software such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom and Salesforce. It moves across multiple applications via APIs or desktop controls and performs tasks like an employee.

BMW, 3M, Mondelez, Southwest Airlines and the NFL are already using Amazon Quick.

AWS’s move is part of a “super-agent” competition, The Information reported. Big Tech companies are accelerating development of technology aimed at a future work environment in which AI performs tasks instead of people directly handling multiple programs.

Anthropic has released “Claude Cowork,” and Microsoft has rolled out Copilot Cowork as they move to target the enterprise market.
