[DigitalToday reporter Oh Sang-yup (오상엽)] The KOSPI reclaimed the 6,100 level on April 15, with its market capitalisation also topping 5,000 trillion won again.

According to the Korea Exchange, as of 9:25 a.m. the combined market capitalisation of companies listed on the main KSE board stood at 5,025.96 trillion won. It rose by more than 1,300 trillion won from 3,687.27 trillion won the previous day.

The main-board market capitalisation first exceeded 5,000 trillion won on Feb. 25 but later plunged after the outbreak of war between the United States and Israel and Iran. The KOSPI is surging again as expectations rise that the United States and Iran will resume talks.

At the same time, the market value of KOSPI No. 1 Samsung Electronics stood at about 1,251 trillion won and No. 2 SK Hynix at about 826 trillion won. Their combined value exceeded 2,000 trillion won, accounting for about 41.54 percent of the KOSPI total.

The Kosdaq market capitalisation was tallied at about 630.46 trillion won.
