It is more than a year after the acquisition was announced in January 2025. The boards of both companies unanimously approved the acquisition, and all required regulatory approvals have been completed.
Infinidat will be run as an independent business unit under Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG).
Ashley Gorakhpurwalla (애슐리 고라크푸르왈라), president of Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group, said the Infinidat acquisition will significantly strengthen its enterprise storage capabilities and accelerate the delivery of high-performance data infrastructure supporting AI, analytics and mission-critical workloads.
Infinidat has customers across industries including finance, healthcare, telecommunications and the public sector. Its product portfolio consists of three offerings: the hybrid enterprise storage array InfiniBox G4 with ultra-low latency and 100 percent availability, the all-flash array InfiniBox SSA G4, and the backup storage appliance InfiniGuard G4 with built-in cyber resilience.
All three products run on InfuzeOS, Infinidat's software-defined storage layer.
