Phanesia, a fabless company that develops link solutions to make AI infrastructure more efficient, said on Tuesday it recently signed a contract with a research institute for high-speed interface link semiconductor technology supporting PCIe sixth generation (Gen6) and completed delivery.
Phanesia develops and provides full-stack link semiconductor technology, from link controllers and IP to hardware including switches, custom silicon, and systems and software.
The company said the contract in particular involves link semiconductors supporting the PCIe Gen6 standard, and stressed it can be seen as an achievement recognising its ultra-high-speed data transmission capabilities required in next-generation AI infrastructure environments.
PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) is an interface technology mainly used in servers to connect system devices such as CPUs and GPUs, AI accelerators, storage and memory expansion devices. The sixth-generation standard supports a transmission speed per lane of 64GT/s, double that of the previous fifth-generation standard.
Phanesia CEO Myung-soo Jung (정명수) said, "We expect revenue growth and business expansion to accelerate further as we begin mass production of switch chips from the second half of this year and expand our collaboration network."
