As PC component prices face renewed upward pressure, signs of increases are spreading across graphics cards, memory and storage devices.

TechRadar reported on April 8 that prices for some Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT models have risen sharply in the U.S. market. On the Asus official store, the Prime 9070 XT OC rose 17.5 percent to $939.99 from $799.99. The white model rose 7 percent to $959.99, and the TUF overclocked model climbed 16.5 percent to $989.99, approaching $1,000.

Pressure from higher memory and storage prices is also continuing. Modular PC maker Framework said RAM and SSD prices are rising further and cost volatility could persist through the remainder of 2026.

Framework laptop prices have risen for prebuilt models equipped with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM. CPU prices were adjusted in some configurations, but overall the increases reflect higher memory costs. For desktop products, the company absorbed part of the increase in RAM prices, but the 128 GB configuration was included in the price hikes.

SSDs showed a more direct signal of increases. Framework said the cost of newly secured SSDs has become "significantly higher" and that the price of the WD SN850X 4TB model has already increased. Other high-capacity drives may also follow with price increases. The company recommended that consumers who need high-capacity storage consider buying while existing inventory remains available.

The graphics card price hikes do not represent the overall market. Some entry-level models can still be bought in the low $700 range. Even so, products that were around $600 earlier this year are being repriced higher, which is seen as a signal that the market's upper price range is rising quickly.

Framework assessed that while some component prices have recently shown signs of stabilising, it is hard to view this as a structural change. The company said "the current stability is likely to be temporary" and expected "price volatility and upward pressure to continue through the remainder of 2026."

Against this backdrop, attention is on whether the PC components market will see further price adjustments in the second half, not only for graphics cards but also for RAM and high-capacity SSDs.
