AI infrastructure company Lablup Inc. will attend MWC Barcelona 2026, which runs from March 2 to 5 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain, and introduce its personal AI platform Backend.AI:GO to the European market. During the event it will also hold a ceremony to sign a partnership with UK AI infrastructure company Boston Limited, stepping up its push into the European market.

According to the company, Backend.AI:GO is a free desktop application that was officially launched at CES 2026 in January. It can run small language models directly on a personal computer without a cloud connection. Once a model is downloaded, it operates fully offline and handles tasks such as document analysis, image understanding and code reviews without sending data externally.

It also has a hybrid bursting function that automatically switches to an organisation's Backend.AI core cluster or cloud APIs such as OpenAI and Google when a task is difficult to process using only local resources. It can also connect multiple GO devices in Mesh Mode to combine computing resources, enabling distributed inference to run models too large to handle on a single personal workstation.

Lablup Chief Executive Jeong-gyu Shin (신정규) said, "Backend.AI:GO was the first step in bringing AI workloads that could only run in data centres to personal devices, and now we are drawing a picture where those personal devices connect to mobile." He added, "Backend.AI has pursued from the start the idea that there is no reason to be tied to a specific place or device to use AI."
