Workday's chief technology officer has moved to Anthropic, The Information reported on April 8 local time.

According to a LinkedIn profile, Peter Bailis (피터 바일리스), Workday's CTO, left the company last month and joined Anthropic. Bailis was hired as Workday CTO in May last year.

A Workday spokesperson confirmed his departure and said senior vice president Gabe Monroy (게이브 몬로이), who joined from Google Cloud in August last year, has taken over as CTO.

According to The Information, Anthropic has shown interest in developing its own HR products. It recently posted a job opening for an engineering manager to oversee development of "people products" such as new hiring, training and development, and promotion management. The Information said these are core functions handled by Workday applications.

It has not been confirmed whether Bailis will participate in Anthropic's HR product development. Anthropic is known to have been a Workday customer until February, and a January job posting stated it prefers candidates with experience in Workday, Salesforce and NetSuite.
