Naehan Shin, head of LG CNS's Enterprise Solution Division, speaks at the 'Business AI for ERP Summit' co-hosted by LG CNS and SAP

LG CNS is working with SAP to speed up AX, or AI transformation, in South Korea's enterprise resource planning, or ERP, market.

LG CNS on April 8 co-hosted the Business AI for ERP Summit with SAP at the Josun Palace Hotel in Seoul's Gangnam district. It announced an execution strategy for next-generation ERP AX based on SAP Business AI.

About 200 people from companies across industries including manufacturing, logistics, distribution and telecommunications attended the event.

LG CNS provides services covering the full cycle from ERP consulting to implementation, operation and advancement. Over the past 30 years, it has provided ERP systems to domestic and overseas clients in industries including manufacturing, chemicals, distribution and aviation. It has recently supported customers through its AX on ERP strategy, applying the latest AI technologies such as agentic AI to ERP systems to help automate and improve work efficiency and rapidly innovate business processes based on AI.

LG CNS and SAP said the event focused on providing answers on how to achieve results by integrating AI into ERP. Paul Wang (폴 왕), head of AI for SAP's Asia-Pacific region, highlighted the "AI value gap" in which many companies fail to achieve tangible results relative to AI investment. He introduced SAP Business AI and said AI should be embedded across company-wide operations to create tangible business outcomes.

In a subsequent session, Hyun-jung Jang (장현정), head of LG CNS's ERP AX Business Group, shared strategies to implement SAP Business AI tailored to the environment of South Korean companies. She presented practical ways to introduce AI ERP that customers can apply immediately in the field.

Jun-gi Park (박준기), head at LG Innotek, and Hyeong-min Moon (문형민), manager at CJ CheilJedang, introduced cases of AI ERP adoption initiatives underway with LG CNS. Kyung-sun Jin (진경선), executive director in charge of LG CNS's ERP innovation business, presented under the theme of AX on ERP a methodology developed with SAP to identify ERP AX use cases suited to each company's business characteristics and an execution framework to link them to actual adoption and results.

LG CNS also introduced trends and ways to use physical AI technologies. Dong-shin Son (손동신), a member of LG CNS's Future Robotics Lab, shared ways to use SAP Embodied AI, SAP's robot-based AI service, by linking it with LG CNS's robot platform. He explained directions for deploying robots in the field.

Naehan Shin (내한신), head of LG CNS's Enterprise Solution Division, said AI must be embedded as an operating system for organisations rather than a specific tool. He said it is important to fundamentally redesign how work is performed through AI agents, beyond simply adopting technology. He added LG CNS would work to deliver tangible innovation results based on its strategic cooperation with SAP.
