LG CNS is working with SAP to accelerate AX, or AI transformation, in South Korea's enterprise resource planning (ERP) market.
LG CNS on April 8 co-hosted the Business AI for ERP Summit with SAP at the Josun Palace hotel in Seoul's Gangnam district. It announced a next-generation ERP AX execution strategy based on SAP Business AI.
About 200 officials from companies across industries including manufacturing, logistics, distribution and telecommunications attended the event.
LG CNS provides services covering the full ERP lifecycle, from consulting to implementation, operation and upgrades. It has provided ERP systems to domestic and overseas clients across industries including manufacturing, chemicals, distribution and aviation for more than 30 years. Recently, through its "AX on ERP" strategy that applies the latest AI technologies such as agentic AI to ERP systems, it supports customers in automating and streamlining work based on AI and rapidly innovating business processes.
LG CNS and SAP said the event focused on providing answers on how to deliver results by incorporating AI into ERP. Paul Wang (폴 왕), head of AI for SAP Asia Pacific, highlighted an "AI value gap" in which many companies fail to produce tangible results from AI investment. He introduced SAP Business AI and explained that companies should embed AI across enterprise operations to generate real business outcomes.
In a following session, Jang Hyun-jung (장현정), head of LG CNS' ERP AX business group, shared strategies for implementing SAP Business AI in ways tailored to South Korean corporate environments. She presented practical ways to adopt AI ERP that customers can apply immediately in the field.
Park Jun-gi (박준기), an executive at LG Innotek, and Moon Hyung-min (문형민), a manager at CJ CheilJedang, introduced cases of efforts underway with LG CNS to adopt AI ERP. Jin Kyung-sun (진경선), a managing director in charge of LG CNS' ERP Innovation business, presented a methodology for identifying ERP AX use cases tailored to each company's business characteristics with SAP under the theme of AX on ERP, and an execution framework to connect them to actual deployment and results.
LG CNS also introduced trends and use cases for physical AI technology. Son Dong-shin (손동신), a member of LG CNS' Future Robotics Lab, shared ways to use SAP Embodied AI, SAP's robot-based AI service, linked with the LG CNS robot platform. He explained directions for on-site deployment of robots.
Naehan Shin (내한신), an executive vice president and head of LG CNS' Enterprise Solution Business Division, said AI should be embedded as an operating system for organisations rather than a specific tool. He said it is important to fundamentally redesign how work is performed through AI agents, beyond simply adopting technology, and added that LG CNS would deliver tangible innovation results based on strategic cooperation with SAP.
