Notion, a global AI-based collaboration tool, said on Tuesday it has officially launched Custom Agents, which execute automated workflows based on schedules and triggers.

Once a workflow is defined, Custom Agents automatically handle repetitive tasks even when users are not online. They run within Notion and integrate with external tools such as Slack, email and calendars. They use the context of accumulated documents and databases to generate accurate outputs.

Use cases include providing immediate answers to repeated questions, automatically classifying new work and assigning team members, and drafting regular reports. Users can build a tailored agent through conversation with Notion AI and immediately share it with the entire team, enabling individual productivity to expand into organization-wide automation assets.

It also includes transparency and control features. All agent execution records are saved in logs, and the permission system is applied in the same way as Notion pages. All changes can be reverted at any time. Notion AI does not use customer data for training, and for enterprise plans it does not retain data.

James Lawley (제임스 롤리), an IT operations manager at HR platform Remote, said more than 20 hours of work time were saved each week after adopting Custom Agents, and inquiry classification accuracy exceeded 95 percent.

Notion Korea head Park Dae-sung (박대성) said it automated repetitive work to speed up tasks and implemented a trusted automation method through clear permission settings and transparent, log-based operations.

Custom Agents is currently available as a Public Beta version for Business and Enterprise plan users.
