SAP will acquire master data management specialist Reltio. It is aimed at optimizing enterprise data for AI and strengthening SAP Business Data Cloud, Techzine reported on March 27 local time.
Enterprise data is often dispersed across multiple systems and domains. That makes it difficult for AI to perform well. Reltio's platform uses AI-based entity resolution to integrate structured and unstructured data into a “golden record.” It identifies and merges data records scattered in different formats.
Data can be used both in SAP environments and non-SAP environments. Once the acquisition is completed, Reltio will be deployed in SAP Business Data Cloud. SAP introduced SAP Business Data Cloud in February 2025.
Reltio's technology supports SAP AI assistant Joule and Joule agents so they operate on consistent and reliable data. It supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing users to implement real-time multi-agent workflows. For example, it can enable a procurement agent to assess supplier risk in near real time. Reltio also provides prebuilt “Velocity Packs” by industry, including life sciences, healthcare and financial services. After the acquisition, Reltio will continue to be sold as an independent solution. Customers can buy it on its own or together with other SAP products.
