Canon Korea is launching 2 RF lenses to expand wide-angle expression in photo and video. The newly unveiled RF7-14mm F2.8-3.5 L FISHEYE STM and RF14mm F1.4 L VCM are optimised for hybrid shooting based on proprietary optical designs and weight reduction.
The RF7-14mm F2.8-3.5 L FISHEYE STM delivers a circular fisheye with an angle of view of up to 190 degrees, providing a shooting area beyond 180 degrees. It can use distortion effects across the full zoom range. It also supports close-up shooting from as close as 0.15 metres, with up to 0.35x magnification. With an F2.8 aperture, UD lenses and ASC coating, it suppresses chromatic aberration and flare. Rear focus and STM drive deliver fast, smooth autofocus for both photos and video. It can also be converted into 2D 180-degree VR through EOS VR Utility.
The RF14mm F1.4 L VCM is an F1.4 large-aperture ultra-wide-angle prime that delivers high resolution from the centre to the periphery. It applies a fluorite lens, BR optical element and SWC and ASC coatings to reduce chromatic aberration and ghosting. A lightweight design of about 578 grams and a unified control layout also improve video shooting efficiency.
Chief executive Jungwoo Park (박정우) said the company presented new possibilities for creators by implementing a 190-degree fisheye zoom and an F1.4 ultra-wide prime as RF L lenses. The prices are 2,299,000 won and 3,299,000 won, respectively.
