AI audio research and development startup ElevenLabs said on March 18 it will run a comprehensive insurance programme dedicated to AI voice agents, in cooperation with risk assessment firm AIUC (Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company).
The company explained that the programme sets up a structure under which insurance coverage can be provided if its ElevenLabs AI agent, ElevenAgents, used in corporate customer support or sales, causes losses through incorrect information or inappropriate responses.
It also stressed that the move is significant in that it institutionalises AI not as simple software but as a "digital employee" concept that carries responsibility.
Mati Staniszewski (마티 스타니셰프스키), ElevenLabs CEO and co-founder, said, "Adoption of enterprise AI agents is expanding rapidly, and AIUC-1 certification is another important step for companies to confidently adopt AI at scale." He added, "This certification provides the security framework and AI insurance coverage that partner companies need, and will be a new tool that allows companies to focus on building an excellent customer experience while minimising risk."
