Korea Investment Management said on Feb. 13 it has been selling an ACE Global Semiconductor TOP4 Plus exchange-traded fund (ETF) cream bread set since Feb. 12 through a collaboration with ETF Bakery (Express Trade Farm Bakery).

ETF Bakery is a bakery cafe operated by Glow Seoul, and its Anguk branch sells the ACE Global Semiconductor TOP4 Plus ETF cream bread made in collaboration with Korea Investment Management.

The ACE Global Semiconductor TOP4 Plus ETF cream bread set combines four types of cream bread that are signature products at ETF Bakery.

The four-type set is based on the fact that the ACE Global Semiconductor TOP4 Plus ETF invests in leading companies across four semiconductor industry sectors: memory, non-memory, foundry and semiconductor equipment.

According to the Korea Exchange, the ACE Global Semiconductor TOP4 Plus ETF has posted a return of 486.30 percent since its listing, helped by its strategy of investing in representative companies by semiconductor sector.

By product, the "Ssookssook" cream bread symbolises Nvidia, the cherry blossom strawberry cream bread symbolises TSMC, the almond cream cheese bread symbolises SK Hynix, and the black sesame cream bread symbolises ASML. The cream bread is sold in limited quantities of 80 sets a day, and sales are scheduled to end on Feb. 28.

Yeom Jeong-in (염정인), head of ETF digital marketing at Korea Investment Management, said the collaboration is an attempt to approach not only investors who "actively seek out" finance but also non-investors in everyday life. She said it is part of a process to create experiential touchpoints so that "ACE ETF comes to mind naturally when people think of ETFs," without separate learning.
