Younglimwon Softlab, an enterprise solutions company, said on Feb. 12 it has released a “Basic guide to payroll, the four major social insurance schemes, year-end tax settlement and tax practice for beginners” for HR and payroll staff who are encountering payroll work for the first time.

The guide was prepared in response to a situation in which HR, payroll and tax work is divided by system, making it difficult for beginner practitioners to set standards on when and how to link each task and make decisions.

Staff can understand overall HR and payroll work, including payroll, annual leave, the four major social insurance schemes, retirement and reporting, in line with the actual order of work.

The guide consists of 10 lectures: an overview of comprehensive income tax; annual salary contracts and ordinary wages; overtime pay and weekly paid holiday allowance; annual leave management; payroll calculation and deduction items; the four major social insurance schemes and income tax; retirement settlement and retirement pensions; daily worker wage payments; and withholding tax reporting.

The training videos are available for anyone to watch for free on Younglimwon Softlab’s official YouTube channel without a separate application process. Related guidelines are provided through the EverPayroll website and the Younglimwon Softlab online training centre.

Daeh-ho Park (박대호), a partner and accountant at Younglimwon Softlab, said those taking on HR and payroll work for the first time often face difficulties early on because they are unfamiliar with various terms, rules and concepts. He said the training videos were designed to help beginners clearly establish workflow and decision-making standards.
