Naver Cloud said on March 13 it signed a memorandum of understanding with AI software company Konan Technology for cooperation on defense and manufacturing-focused large language models and physical AI.
The two companies are pursuing the cooperation to design AI models optimized for defense and manufacturing domains where security and expertise are essential, and to detail ways to make industrial sites more intelligent in the era of physical AI. They plan to combine Naver Cloud’s full-stack AI capabilities with Konan Technology’s agentic AI technology to drive AI transformation in key national industries.
The scope of cooperation includes joint development of defense and manufacturing-focused data and models, implementation of on-site intelligence solutions based on LLMs and physical AI, and joint business initiatives based on Naver Cloud’s cloud infrastructure.
Yu-won Kim (김유원), CEO of Naver Cloud, said the company would expand an AI ecosystem that can be used in real industrial settings. Young-seop Kim (김영섬), CEO of Konan Technology, said the company would bring together domestic AI capabilities and present an optimal solution for industrial intelligence based on physical AI.
