LG Electronics unveiled an accessibility-focused kiosk for the first time at the world’s largest assistive technology event. LG Electronics said on Wednesday it took part in CSUN AT 2026, which opened in Anaheim, to showcase accessibility products and solutions for customers with disabilities and seniors.

CSUN AT is an assistive technology event hosted by California State University, Northridge and is the world’s largest event in the accessibility field. LG Electronics attended for a second straight year, following last year’s participation.

LG Electronics opened a standalone booth and unveiled a new kiosk co-developed with Dot, a braille-device specialist. The kiosk integrates accessibility technologies including a braille panel, sign-language guidance and a screen reader. It also allows users to adjust the stand height at the push of a button, enabling use by wheelchair users and shorter customers.

It also introduced a range of home appliance solutions. An IoT sensor linked to the AI home hub ThinQ ON provides door-open detection, motion sensing and power monitoring functions, and delivers alarms through light instead of sound so people with hearing impairments can use it. LG also showcased LG Comfort Kit accessories designed to help people use appliances regardless of gender, age or disability, as well as LG OLED TV features including voice menu reading, sign-language menu reading and simultaneous listening through a hearing aid and speaker.

The company said that while its first participation last year focused on the symbolism of being the first home appliance company in the industry to take part, this year it concentrated on expanding exchanges with participating companies, academic experts and disability groups. LG Electronics is continuing accessibility-related activities beyond CSUN AT, including an appliance school project for children and adolescents and an "LG for Everyone" campaign for people with disabilities and seniors.

Hong Seong-min (홍성민), head of the ESG Office, said the participation was intended to more actively publicise LG Electronics’ efforts to improve accessibility. He said the company would continue working to realise its ESG vision of a “better life for all” so that anyone can freely enjoy technology regardless of gender, age or disability status.
