NCSoft said on Thursday it has unveiled a 'Lineage Classic' brand website and started pre-registrations.
Lineage Classic is a PC game that recreates an early-2000s version of 'Lineage,' which NCSoft has operated since 1998. It will begin a free pre-service in South Korea and Taiwan on Feb. 7. Players can play it under a monthly subscription service of 29,700 won from Feb. 11. Users can pre-download Lineage Classic from Jan. 7.
Lineage Classic features four classes including monarch, knight, elf and wizard. It also includes content from the early version, with areas such as Talking Island, Dragon Valley and the Giran region open. The game also has an interface familiar to users of the Lineage intellectual property. NCSoft plans to add core content from the existing Lineage IP. It also plans to introduce story elements not previously covered and original new content unique to Lineage Classic.
NCSoft opened a Lineage Classic brand website that recreates PC bangs from memories. Users can view Lineage Classic artwork and videos on the brand website. The company plans to release Lineage Classic screenshots and the original soundtrack on Jan. 7. It will roll out content sequentially, including a "Hall of Fame" honoring veteran users.
All users can take part in Lineage Classic pre-registration until Feb. 10. Participants will receive a pre-registration weapon selection box that lets them choose either a silver long sword or a hunter's bow. They will also receive a bone set consisting of a skull helmet, bone shield and bone armor, a ring of protection, and potions and scrolls to help early character growth.
