KT Skylife said on Monday it signed an MOU with the Yongin Special City Sports Council to introduce its AI sports broadcasting solution, Pochak.

Under the agreement, KT Skylife will install an AI broadcasting system at the Giheung Respia and Suji Sports Park football grounds in Yongin. From April, citizens using the facilities will be able to use the Pochak service for free.

Pochak is a sports broadcasting platform in which AI cameras automatically track players' movements and the ball's trajectory to automate the entire process of filming, editing and transmission. It can provide high-definition match footage without professional filming staff, and enables live viewing and replays through an app. Amateur players can save, edit and share videos, and parents can check their children's training footage without visiting the site.

KT Skylife has expanded the Pochak service area by working with several local governments, including Seoul's Seocho district, Daejeon and Gangneung in Gangwon province. Professional baseball teams kt wiz and the Lotte Giants' second team, as well as Paju Frontier FC of K League 2, are also introducing Pochak.

Lee Seok-ho (이석호), head of KT Skylife's Seoul metropolitan customer headquarters, said, "Yongin Special City is the first local government in Gyeonggi province to introduce an AI broadcasting system," adding, "We will develop it into a model that can spread nationwide."
