C-Platform, an IT solutions company under the ITCEN Group, said on Sunday it signed a domestic distribution agreement with data company EDB (EnterpriseDB) and will make a full-scale push into the big data analytics and AI data platform market.

C-Platform said it will move beyond a database approach centered on data storage and expand its business into a next-generation data platform that spans data analytics and AI use.

EDB Postgres AI, which C-Platform will supply, is a data platform that supports both on-premise and cloud environments. It is based on the open-source database Postgres.

C-Platform said the platform integrates transaction, analytics and AI workloads into one, helping companies run large language models efficiently while maintaining control over data sovereignty. Through the partnership, C-Platform plans to proactively provide an "AI Factory" environment to South Korean companies.

Geun-tae Bae (배근태), CEO of C-Platform, said the environment is rapidly shifting to one in which AI and data capabilities determine corporate competitiveness, driving a sharp rise in demand for platforms that can handle large-scale data analytics and AI workloads beyond simple storage. He said the partnership with EDB, which has technology proven in the global market, will support South Korean companies in building their own "AI Factory" and developing self-sustaining AI capabilities.

Hee-bae Kim (김희배), country manager of EDB Korea, said the strategic partnership will broaden the base for open-source databases and AI platforms in South Korea and build a cooperative ecosystem that customers can trust.
