Hana Bank said on Sunday that its CEO Lee Ho-seong (이호성) joined a relay campaign to eradicate youth gambling aimed at preventing youth gambling and expanding public awareness of the risks of illegal cyber gambling.
Led by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the campaign is being carried out by spreading the message: "Illegal cyber gambling that targets teenagers is a fraud crime you can never win," to raise nationwide awareness of illegal gambling by youths.
Lee was nominated last month by Kim Mi-seop (김미섭), vice chairman of Mirae Asset Securities. Lee spent time with employees sharing an understanding of the risks and seriousness of preventing illegal gambling by youths. He recommended Jin Jin-wan (정진완), CEO of Woori Bank, as the next participant.
Hana Financial Group has continued integrated support such as prevention, promotion and treatment to protect teenagers from illegal gambling. It includes co-producing and distributing cultural content such as musicals themed on preventing illegal gambling by youths, training specialist instructors for youth gambling prevention and running counselling programmes for treatment focused on illegal gambling.
Lee said, "Illegal gambling by youths is an issue that society as a whole must think about and solve together, beyond a simple personal deviation." He added, "Hana Bank will work together so that teenagers who will lead the future generation can enjoy a healthy daily life and grow up properly."
