Woori Investment Securities will run a special event for purchases of Kosdaq Venture Funds from March 6 to April 30 to promote investment in Kosdaq venture companies.

Kosdaq Venture Funds are products that are required to invest at least 50 percent of capital in Kosdaq and venture companies under the government’s policy to revitalise Kosdaq venture companies.

If investors keep their investment for at least three years, they receive an income deduction of up to 20 million won a year, equal to 10 percent of the investment amount. Another feature is that, in a Kosdaq initial public offering (IPO), 30 percent of public offering shares are preferentially allocated to Kosdaq Venture Funds.

During the event period, the first 400 people to buy designated funds will receive gift vouchers by purchase-amount bracket.

A Woori Investment Securities official said the Kosdaq market has continued a steady rise this year, led by blue-chip venture companies, and is an area expected to benefit from the government’s policy to strengthen Kosdaq competitiveness. The official added that the investment appeal of Kosdaq Venture Funds has increased further due to institutional advantages such as tax benefits and preferential IPO allocation.
