Cafe24 adds Ourbox as a new Daily Delivery partner [Photo: Cafe24]

Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 said on Jan. 29 it has added fulfillment specialist Ourbox as a partner for its Daily Delivery service. The cooperation is expected to further strengthen fresh food logistics infrastructure for direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands.

Ourbox is a logistics company that has its own order management system (OMS) and warehouse management system (WMS). Its annual shipment volume reaches 25,000,000 boxes, and its claim rate stands at about 0.07 percent, giving it stable operating capabilities.

"Cafe24 Daily Delivery" is a service that ships goods 365 days a year without days off when orders are placed, after online businesses pre-stock their products. With Ourbox joining, logistics processing is now possible across all temperatures, from ambient to chilled and frozen.

Ourbox operates a system that can deliver even orders placed just before midnight the next day by closing orders at 24:00 on weekdays and 22:00 on weekends. It also handles large order volumes in a stable manner through advanced facilities such as a 3D sorter, a digital picking system (DPS) and a digital assorting system (DAS).

Cafe24 said a survey of client companies that used the Daily Delivery service for at least 1 week found that food shopping malls saw an average 103 percent increase in new members compared with before adoption. Order volume rose 43 percent and the purchase conversion rate climbed 47 percent, it said.

Lee Jae-seok (이재석), Cafe24's CEO, said securing logistics partners is directly linked to sellers' competitiveness in a market where demand for cold chain services is rising for food and other items. He said the company will continue to build an environment in which logistics can be a core competitive edge.
