LG Uplus said on Jan. 27 that cumulative subscribers to its MVNO platform Aldot have surpassed 500,000.
LG Uplus launched the Aldot Care service in April 2024 for smaller MVNO operators that face a heavy burden in building and operating customer service centers, and for MVNO customers who have faced inconvenience due to the lack of customer service centers.
Aldot is an online platform that allows users to compare at a glance about 900 plans from 25 partner companies that run MVNO businesses on the LG Uplus network, and to complete self-service activation remotely in 5 minutes. In May last year, it surpassed 300,000 subscribers in 1 year. The number of people using the Aldot platform rose 266 percent in December 2025 from the same month a year earlier.
LG Uplus carried out a major overhaul in November last year to provide optimized services in line with the growing number of users. After the revamp, Aldot offers services including checking plan usage and discount periods and paying bills through Aldot Care; self-service activation and top-ups for prepaid plan USIM and eSIM; signing up for, checking and changing add-on services; and applying for consultations on bundled internet and IPTV services.
Aldot Care in particular has significantly improved convenience for MVNO users by providing services such as checking and paying bills, reporting loss and finding the location of a lost phone, without going through a customer service center. The company plans to release an application in the second half of this year so customers can use it easily and quickly from anywhere.
LG Uplus will introduce an "integrated coupon wallet" service on Jan. 29. Customers will be able to manage and use coupons they previously received as text messages in one place. They will also be able to check coupon usage history and coupons scheduled to be issued. The company plans to provide a wider range of coupons by expanding partnerships in the future.
Meanwhile, as a result of programs to boost MVNOs including Aldot, the share of MVNO subscribers on the LG Uplus network stood at 44.86 percent as of November last year, ranking first among the three mobile carriers.
Park Dae-yong (박대용), head of MVNO business at LG Uplus, said, "We thank customers who helped Aldot surpass 500,000 and establish itself as the best one-stop service platform for MVNOs." He said the company will continue to provide various services tailored to customer needs to help customers use MVNO services more conveniently.
