AI app hosting platform Runpod is growing rapidly after posting an annual revenue run rate of $120 million, TechCrunch reported on Thursday.

Runpod provides infrastructure that lets AI developers run AI apps without the cloud. It has secured 500,000 developers as customers in four years.

In May 2024, Runpod strengthened its position in the AI cloud market after raising $20 million in seed funding led by Dell Technologies Capital and Intel.

Runpod currently operates 31 global regions and has secured customers including Replit, Cursor, OpenAI, Perplexity, Wix and Zillow.

As competition intensifies with major cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft and Google, Runpod is seeking to differentiate itself with a developer-friendly platform. CEO Zen Lu stressed that "programmers will evolve into AI agent developers, and we will be a platform where the next generation of software developers can grow."
