Com2uSwith, Com2uS' orchestra subsidiary-type standard workplace for people with disabilities, received a superintendent's letter of appreciation from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education in recognition of its contributions to special education activities, it said on Jan. 16.
The letter of appreciation is awarded to organisations that contribute to improving the educational environment and welfare of students eligible for special education in Gyeonggi Province. Com2uSwith received high marks for its continued support for special education based on culture and the arts.
Com2uSwith formed a wind orchestra made up of members with disabilities, the first such group in the game industry, and has carried out various activities. The wind orchestra visits special school classes in Gyeonggi Province to give performances. It has continuously expanded opportunities for students with disabilities to experience culture and the arts more closely.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education highly evaluated the wind orchestra's professional performances for contributing to the emotional stability of special school students. It also credited the group with effectively conveying educational and social value in improving awareness of disabilities by showing artists with disabilities actively participating in social activities.
Com2uSwith is also receiving a positive response from people with developmental disabilities as well as teachers and parents as a training institution for those eligible for special education in Gyeonggi Province. In an on-site assessment conducted last year, it recorded excellent scores across overall items including the work environment, workplace location, job type, coworker relationships and accessibility facilities for people with disabilities, establishing itself as a practical venue for vocational education.
