[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] Stellar (XLM) is pushing ahead with an integration with tokenisation platform Securitize, boosting its presence in the institutional real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation market.

According to blockchain media outlet U.Today on Oct. 28, Securitize is pursuing a plan to integrate its regulated financial technology into the Stellar blockchain. It has not yet disclosed what financial products will be offered through the integration or when they will be launched.

Securitize said in a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, that Stellar was added as the 17th blockchain linked with its tokenisation technology. The company explained that the goal of the integration is to provide more choices for institutional asset managers. It has expanded to Stellar the range of blockchain networks institutions can use when pursuing asset tokenisation.

It also highlighted that Stellar was designed with support for the financial services industry in mind. It said the network has features that regulated financial institutions can use, and can issue financial assets on the blockchain and process trade settlement. It said the Stellar network has processed a cumulative total of billions of transactions since its launch.

The market is focusing on Securitize's business base. Securitize is a major operator in the tokenisation market and works with large asset managers such as BlackRock, Apollo, BNY, KKR and Hamilton Lane. The platform hosts tokenised securities worth about $5 billion.

As a result, this integration carries significance beyond simply adding another chain. It opens a path for institutional asset managers to choose Stellar when designing tokenised financial products. Stellar has already established itself as a tokenisation hub for institutions, and adding Securitize's network has increased the possibility it could expand its position amid a trend of broadening blockchain options.

Key points to watch are the scope of actual product launches and the timing of adoption. Which asset classes Securitize issues first on Stellar and how much institutional demand flows in are expected to be the next stage's core issues.

We're planning to integrate with @StellarOrg, bringing our regulated infrastructure to the fourth largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets. The integration will enable us to support the issuance and management of tokenized financial assets on the Stellar network. https://t.co/sZ5oTDVbrx
