[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] XRP needs to first clear key resistance zones at $1.6198 and $1.8939 to reclaim the $2 level, data showed.

Blockchain outlet The Crypto Basic reported on Oct. 28 that XRP briefly recovered $1.30 after broader market selling, but clear resistance levels remain before any further rebound.

On a weekly chart, the price band is a Fibonacci retracement range calculated from the decline from a 2025 peak of $3.67 to an August 2026 low of $0.9764. The market typically views such zones as resistance during a rebound. Above the current price, the 0.618 level at $1.6198 and the 0.5 level at $1.8939 come first, followed by $2.3725 and $2.6872.

XRP fell below $2 in the week ending Jan. 25, 2026 and has not regained the level since. The nearest support just below the current rebound is the 0.786 level at $1.2965. If it drops below that again, the next support was put at $1.1326. The 1.0 level at $0.9764 is the bottom of this decline range, after XRP slid to $0.98 in August 2026 before buying interest halted further falls.

The first hurdle is $1.6198. From the current XRP price of $1.30, it would need to rise about 22 percent. XRP climbed to $1.6581 in late September 2026, but immediately faced selling pressure and slipped below $1.50.

If it clears that resistance, the next turning point is $1.8939. XRP would need to climb about 43 percent from current levels to reach that price. Because it is close to $2, it is a zone where both buying and selling could cluster, and if XRP rises above $1.8939 it would pass the last major Fibonacci resistance just below $2.

A short-term sentiment factor cited was Ripple's Swell event under way in New York. Ripple said the event is the biggest in its history, with more than 75 institutional speakers including BNY and Nasdaq. Observers said major announcements could renew interest in XRP and fuel attempts to rise to $1.6198 and then $1.8939.

Technical indicators also signal that upside momentum is not strong. The weekly MACD histogram remains green, meaning bullish momentum has not fully broken, but the bars are gradually shrinking, suggesting buying pressure is weakening rather than growing. The MACD line was put at 0.0267 and the signal line at -0.0173.

The Directional Movement Index showed a similar trend. The +DI, which indicates buying dominance, is falling to 22.52, while the -DI, which reflects the selling side, is slowly rising to 19.93. The narrowing gap suggests the buying advantage is weakening. The Average Directional Index, which shows trend strength, is also trending down at 23.07, indicating neither an uptrend nor a downtrend is forming strongly at present.

XRP's near-term focus therefore narrows to holding support at $1.2965 and breaking above $1.6198 on a weekly closing basis. If it fails to clear that zone, any attempt to reclaim $2 could be delayed again. If it breaks above $1.8939, XRP would then face $2.3725 and $2.6872 as the next upside resistance zones.
