NCSoft said on December 2 that its new MMORPG Aion2 was selected as the 2025 Game of G-Star by the Korea Game Media Association and the Korea Game Journalists Club.

Kim Nam-jun, Aion2 development PD at NCSoft, So In-seop, head of Aion2 business, Korea Game Media Association president Lee Taek-su and Korea Game Journalists Club secretary Im Young-taek attended the trophy ceremony held on December 1 at NCSoft’s R&D Center in Pangyo.

Game of G-Star is awarded to the most outstanding title exhibited at G-Star 2025 based on gameplay, graphics, story and overall completeness. It began in 2018 and marks its eighth edition this year. Members of the Korea Game Journalists Club vote to select the winner.

Aion2 is NCSoft’s new MMORPG that launched in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19. It surpassed 1.5 million daily active users two days after launch. Cumulative character creation exceeded 2.53 million after one week, establishing it as one of the top-performing releases of 2025.

Kim Nam-jun said the strong interest and support from users enabled Aion2 to be selected as the 2025 Game of G-Star. He said the team will continue listening to users and work to develop the game further.

Korea Game Media Association president Lee Taek-su said Aion2, chosen as this year’s top game at G-Star, has received strong user response since its official launch. He said he expects NCSoft to restore its reputation in MMORPGs and be recognised again by gamers.
