Netflix said on Thursday it has worked with more than 80 local production companies over the past 10 years since launching its service in South Korea, producing more than 200 Korean titles.

Netflix on Thursday unveiled a 10th anniversary website, "Netflix and Korea: 10 Years," and highlighted results in local content production and overseas distribution.

From 2016 to 2025, Netflix worked with more than 80 local production companies to produce or co-produce more than 200 Korean titles, it said. More than 25,000 crew and cast took part in the process. More than 70,000 extras and daily hired workers also participated. Filming took place in more than 100 cities and villages in South Korea.

Overseas viewing of Korean content has also expanded. About 80 percent of Netflix members worldwide have watched Korean content, it said. More than 200 Korean titles have entered the rankings since the introduction of Global Top 10 tallies in 2021.

Participation by new creators has increased. More than one-third of Netflix Korean original titles released over the past three years were counted as works involving new directors or writers.

Netflix also said it invested in training production personnel and provided education opportunities to more than 6,500 people through domestic education programmes from 2021 to 2025.

It is also working with a total of 122 localisation partners, including 119 dubbing studios and three subtitle specialists. It is also providing accessibility features such as audio description and subtitles for the hearing-impaired.

On the newly released 10th anniversary website, Netflix introduced interviews with local creators, examples from production sites and key achievements, it said.
