Kakao said on Oct. 21 it has revamped its user communication page, 'KakaoTalk Now'.

With the revamp, it has created a new channel for submitting opinions on KakaoTalk directly. It also introduces cases and processes in which user feedback has been reflected in service improvements.

Users can write and submit feedback related to KakaoTalk through an input box at the bottom of the page. Kakao plans to continue sharing service improvement cases and the reflection process based on the feedback it receives.

Along with the page revamp, it also carried out a regular KakaoTalk update.

In the message input box, users can select desired letters or phrases and apply formatting such as bold, italics, strikethrough and lists.

Open chat rooms added a new message badge setting. If users turn off new message badge display alerts in chat room settings, the numbers shown on the app icon and the bottom tab do not increase even when new messages arrive.

In the mini emoticon combination tab, users can check multiple combinations and send them directly to a chat room. Kakao also expanded the supported range so that KakaoTalk sub-devices can be registered on mobile phones as well.

The new features are available on KakaoTalk version 26.9.0 or higher.

'KakaoTalk Now' is a user communication page that Kakao opened in August. Kakao has restored the expand and collapse function for the friends list in response to user requests, and has rolled out per-folder notification settings for chat rooms, expanded the number of open profiles that can be created, added channel folder creation and improved the user interface for the chat list.

A Kakao official said, "It is important not only to listen to users and respond with actual service improvements, but also to inform them again about what has changed and how." The official added, "We will continue to reflect user feedback in service improvements and consistently share the process."
