Sh Suhyup Bank has introduced an electronic Braille service on its personal internet banking platform to improve access to financial information for visually impaired customers. It provides key financial information such as transaction history, transfer history and certificates as Braille files so visually impaired customers can check the information directly.

Suhyup Bank said on Oct. 19 it applied the electronic Braille service to 23 major menu items on its personal internet banking platform from Oct. 16.

The electronic Braille service converts text on the internet banking screen into a Braille file. Users can check the file on a Braille information terminal or print it using a Braille printer.

The service covers 23 major menu items, including inquiries for transaction and transfer history by product, credit card bill statements and issuance of various certificates. Users can download an electronic Braille file from the 'View in Braille' menu at the bottom of the internet banking screen.

Suhyup Bank expects the service to help visually impaired customers more accurately understand financial information that was difficult to check using only existing voice-conversion guidance.

Shin Hak-ki (신학기), the bank's CEO, said, "We will continue to improve accessibility and expand inclusive finance so that all customers can use financial services without discrimination."
