Ohouse has opened its first interior-focused space in Seoul. The company said on the 19th it officially opened the “Ohouse Interior Mokdong Lounge” on Omok-ro in Yangcheon district, Seoul. It is the company’s second offline base following the Pangyo Lounge that opened in Seongnam, Gyeonggi province in March. Customers can view and compare materials as well as kitchens and bathrooms that were hard to choose online, then receive consultations. The company said visitors can drop in and get consultations without a separate reservation.
The display materials were selected using sales data Ohouse has accumulated. Wallpaper, flooring sheets, wood flooring and film in the display zone focus on products that have been chosen frequently. Visitors can compare how colors change under different lighting and try combining materials. Some of the wallpaper on display is provided as samples so customers can place them in the desired space and gauge how it will look after installation.
The kitchen and bathroom areas were set up as finished spaces where materials and products are applied. In the “Ohouse Kitchen” display zone, the “Signature” line with hardware is installed from countertops to cabinets, with lighting and home appliances placed together. The newly introduced bath zone was developed from demand identified while operating the Pangyo Lounge. It brings faucets, tiles and fixtures together and recreates a real bathroom so visitors can see overall patterns and colors that are hard to judge from small samples.
After looking around, customers can receive consultations on site immediately. At the 2 consultation zones, construction partner companies are on hand and provide advice tailored to visitors’ home conditions. Customers can apply popular material combinations themselves and refer to finished spaces. Consultations cover both comprehensive construction for renovating an entire home and partial construction to fix only needed areas such as kitchens or wallpapering.
Southwestern Seoul and Gyeonggi is an area with many older apartments and strong underlying demand for remodeling. Ohouse chose the site as its next base after confirming at the Pangyo Lounge that in-person experiences lead to consultations and contracts. The contract amount for partially contracted direct construction has increased about 20-fold year on year as of July this year. The company carries out kitchen, wallpapering, wood flooring and flooring sheet installation directly, mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area, and provides a 1-year defect warranty after construction.
An Ohouse Interior official said, “The Mokdong Lounge is Seoul’s first regional base designed so customers can experience everything in one place, from checking materials to consultations and deciding on construction.” The official added, “We will continue to expand consultation and construction experiences that connect online and offline so customers can start interior projects close to home.”
