JPMorgan is blocking external AI agents such as Meta's Muse and Instinct from accessing customer accounts, The Information reported on Oct. 13, citing CNBC.

Jamie Dimon said on a third-quarter earnings conference call, "We are not going to let any outside agent into the company," adding, "It is too risky for both customers and JPMorgan."

CFO Jeremy Barnum added, "We are blocking it to protect customers and the company to the extent we can block it."

The report also said the bank made it clear that if a customer hands over login information to an agent and the agent takes unwanted actions, the customer is responsible.

A JPMorgan spokesperson said the bank does not allow a third party to receive a customer's bank login information and log in on the customer's behalf.

Amazon also previously blocked Meta's Muse from shopping on behalf of customers, citing privacy and security risks.
