Naver Cloud said on Sunday it will jointly pursue an AI factory business and GPU infrastructure-as-a-service (GPUaaS) business with Vietnamese IT company FPT.
The two companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding at Naver 1784 in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. They agreed to expand their AI infrastructure business in Asia-Pacific markets including South Korea, Japan and Vietnam.
FPT is a major Vietnamese IT company and is participating as an Nvidia cloud partner.
Under the agreement, the companies will jointly identify AI factory business opportunities using GPU infrastructure, cloud technology and customer networks. They plan to provide corporate clients with GPU resources, AI models and related services needed for large-scale AI training and inference.
They will also pursue technical cooperation. Engineers from Naver Cloud's Vietnam development centre and headquarters and FPT engineers will take part in regular technical exchanges and jointly work on GPU infrastructure optimisation, improvements to AI inference performance and the development of AI agents.
Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won (김유원) said the companies will combine their technology and business capabilities to meet diverse AI demand in the Asia-Pacific market and turn that into tangible business results.
