While the film industry continues to see box-office momentum and interest around "The Man Who Lives With the King", the music scene is seeing various allegations spread around Katseye, a multinational six-member group.

Separately, the possibility of a unit project is rising rapidly among K-pop fans. Online communities and social media are heating up as talk spreads that aespa member Ningning, IVE member Rei and All Day Project member Youngseo will join as a unit.

The spark was a change in the three members' social media profile photos. Rei switched her profile to a green image, Ningning to blue, and Youngseo to pink. Fans took note that members active in different teams changed to color-focused profiles around the same time.

Speculation grew further with a recent post by Rei. The phrase "blue, pink, green" appeared along with a staged photo of light spreading over a hand. Fans are interpreting it as a device hinting at the three members.

■ This week's major K-snapp news?

· Katseye's Manon, a 'like' pressed after halting activities… interpreted as suggestive · Even banana remarks dug up… Katseye 'racism allegations' spread

With Katseye member Manon halting activities for health reasons, fans are offering various interpretations after it became known she recently reacted to a particular video on social media.

The video at issue was content posted on social media on the 22nd. It included material about experiences of racism faced by Black members active in global groups. It was reported to include cases involving Normani of Fifth Harmony and Leigh-Anne Pinnock of Little Mix. After it became known that Manon pressed 'like' on the post, some fans are speculating about other possibilities beyond a simple health issue as the background to her activity halt.

The allegations are growing as past broadcasts are being dug up. On MBC M variety show Weekly Idol aired in October 2024, Megan answered "banana" with a smile when asked about "food that goes well with Yoonchae". When asked why, Megan said it was because "the clumsy image of slipping after stepping on a banana peel is similar to Yoonchae", and added that "Yoonchae eats a banana every morning". The MCs also summed it up by linking it to the youngest member's personality.

Some fans say the remark was inappropriate, noting that in some overseas contexts bananas are also used as a derogatory expression toward Asians.
