Ripple (XRP) is extending recent gains, with the Kalshi prediction market reflecting a high likelihood it rises as much as $1.70 this month. XRP has drawn renewed investor interest after breaking through resistance near $1.60 and sustaining upward momentum.
On Sept. 27, blockchain outlet U.Today reported that in Kalshi's latest prediction market data, traders reflected the highest likelihood that XRP reaches $1.70 in September.
The outlook followed XRP's recent break above resistance around $1.60, where it had traded for months. XRP had moved below $1.60, but its recent rise suggests bullish sentiment among investors is returning.
XRP's advance slowed briefly after a recent rally, but upward momentum is still continuing. At the time of writing, XRP was at $1.53 and would need to rise more than 11 percent to reach $1.70 by the end of September.
XRP's recent rise also aligns with strong performance in the third quarter of 2026. September is the final month of the third quarter of 2026, and XRP has carried the upswing from last month into September to post its highest quarterly gain rate this year.
The latest on-chain data show XRP has risen about 47.6 percent in the third quarter of 2026. That marks a recovery after declines in the previous two consecutive quarters. The third-quarter gain allowed XRP to recoup part of the losses seen earlier this year, and XRP holders' returns also showed a recovery trend.
XRP has shown large price swings in September. Based on Investing.com, XRP was at $1.5731 on Sept. 21, $1.6071 on Sept. 22 and rose to $1.6556 on Sept. 23. It then gave back part of the gains, with a Sept. 27 close of $1.5136.
After months of elevated volatility, XRP has resumed an upward trend, reviving investor interest. With XRP having moved above the $1.60 resistance level and Kalshi reflecting the possibility of a rise to $1.70 in September, attention is focused on whether further gains follow.
Whether XRP reaches $1.70 depends on whether it can extend additional gains over the time remaining until the end of September. With XRP now having pulled back into the $1.50 range, the focus is on whether the uptrend continues after the break above $1.60.
