The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service will begin selling book and culture gift certificates at post offices nationwide from Sept. 21.

The book and culture gift certificate is a paper voucher issued by Page Book & Life. It comes in three denominations: 5,000 won, 10,000 won and 50,000 won. It can be purchased with cash or credit cards.

Credit card purchases require a credit card in the buyer’s name and an ID card. For purchases with a corporate card, a business registration certificate and an ID card, along with an employee ID card or a business card, are required.

The certificate can be used at about 20,000 offline outlets nationwide, including cinemas and restaurant franchises, and at about 600 online partners for games, shopping and content. It can also be converted into partner points such as Naver Pay, Happy Point and OK Cashbag.

Park In-hwan (박인환), head of the Postal Service, said, "We are starting sales of the book and culture gift certificate so people can conveniently buy vouchers at post offices and use them across various online and offline outlets." He said, "We will continue to use the post office network to identify a range of services that help people in their daily lives."
