Meta has launched its AI assistant app Muse for Mac. TechCrunch reported on Sept. 18 that Muse for Mac connects to files, messages, calendars, notes and mail, allowing users to work within each default app.
Users can choose, item by item, what information and functions Muse can access on a Mac. It always seeks user approval before carrying out sensitive tasks.
Muse was first launched earlier this month in mobile and web versions. It quickly rose to the top of the U.S. App Store charts at the time. The Mac launch broadens the supported platforms to desktop.
Tech companies besides Meta are releasing agentic AI aimed at individual users.
Folk, a personal AI agent company, was acquired by Cognition in July. Instinct, an AI assistant often mentioned in the tech industry recently, is reported to be seeking additional funding at a valuation of $10 billion.
