Naver has introduced an AI function on Flea Market that suggests appropriate market prices by analyzing the condition of used-trade items and prices of similar products.

Naver said on Sept. 18 it has launched the 'AI price recommendation' feature on Flea Market. The feature was first applied from Sept. 17 to the Sports & Leisure and Digital & Home Appliance categories.

AI price recommendation shows sellers a recommended price range for an item they plan to list, based on information and price bands for identical or similar products registered on Naver Flea Market and cafes.

Sellers can check price information that reflects price differences by condition by selecting an item condition from 'new' to 'heavily used' on the Flea Market 'Sell' screen.

Naver plans to gradually expand the scope to all categories. From Sept. 30, it will also provide AI price information on product detail pages so buyers can compare listing prices with market prices.

Flea Market has also applied the AI-based image search service Smart Lens to the product registration process since Sept. 2. When a seller uploads product photos, it automatically enters the product name, brand and category by comparing them with Naver Shopping data, and provides a product description that reflects signs of use and specifications.

Naver said that, comparing Aug. 23 to 29 before the introduction of Smart Lens with Sept. 6 to 12 after its introduction, the number of safe-transaction product listings rose by an average of 20 percent per day. The Fashion Apparel and Pregnancy & Childcare categories increased 38 percent and 40.5 percent, respectively.

Song-i Koo (구송이), Flea Market leader at Naver, said, "AI price recommendation is a feature introduced to make it easy to refer to market prices by product condition in used transactions where it is not easy to set a price." She added, "We will enhance transaction convenience by linking Flea Market with Naver's AI and commerce technologies."
