DJI has released a new 360-degree camera in South Korea. DJI said on Tuesday it has started domestic sales of its second-generation 360-degree camera, the Osmo 360 II.

The Osmo 360 II is equipped with a square HDR image sensor. It delivers the same 360-degree imaging area as an existing rectangular sensor while increasing sensor utilisation by 25 percent. It is designed to cut power consumption while allowing video recording day and night. It also has a replaceable lens and 105GB of built-in storage to support shooting from various angles.

Its 360-degree dynamic range has been expanded to 14.5 stops, doubling the range of brightness expression from the previous model. It applies a newly developed AI noise reduction algorithm, AI SuperNight 2.0, enabling shooting in low-light environments. Based on large 2.4-micrometer pixels and a high-performance chip, it also reduces motion blur when recording 8K, 60fps 360-degree video.

For still images, a 120-megapixel HDR 360-degree photo function can capture images that highlight light and contrast. It also supports 16K-resolution 360-degree timelapse and a cloud mode that compresses the expression of sky movement. In post-production, DJI Studio’s AI frame interpolation technology enables up to 64x slow motion, and it also includes a Vortex function that creates slow-motion video with a swing motion. With the D-Log M colour profile that supports 10-bit colour depth, it can express more than 1 billion colours.

The Osmo 360 II is available through domestic store websites and authorised retailers. The Standard Combo costs 860,000 won and the Adventure Combo costs 1,023,000 won. Accessories such as a lens replacement kit, battery extension rod and heavy-duty clamp kit are sold separately.
