KB Financial Group is expanding data and technology cooperation with Bloomberg in global capital markets and asset management, while working to strengthen its overseas client and investor network.
KB Financial said on Sept. 10 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Bloomberg on Sept. 9 at KB Kookmin Bank's new building in Seoul's Yeouido.
The agreement was signed as part of the 2026 KB Financial Group Korea Conference program. The two sides agreed to expand their existing cooperation based on experience built through work with global capital market participants.
KB Financial and Bloomberg will pursue cooperation in data and technology with a focus on capital markets, asset management and global business.
KB Financial plans to use Bloomberg's financial information and analytics solutions to improve trading and investment workflows and strengthen portfolio and risk management capabilities. It will also identify additional cooperation tasks in data governance and digital transformation.
The two sides also plan over the mid to long term to identify new opportunities for cooperation and continue working together to promote KB Financial's products and services to global market participants.
At the Korea Conference held that day, Bloomberg founder Michael Bloomberg delivered a congratulatory message, and Bing Li gave the keynote speech.
A Bloomberg official said, "We hope to combine the capabilities of both sides through the partnership and push forward the development of the global financial industry together."
A KB Financial official said, "To secure competitiveness in global capital markets, market capabilities based on data and AI and a global network are important." The official added, "Based on cooperation with Bloomberg, we will raise our capital markets expertise and expand our foundation for global business."
