Smilegate's game platform Stove is introducing Dragonfly's first-person shooter (FPS) game 'Special Force Remastered' as a new title on the platform and will begin pre-registration, it said on Thursday.
The pre-registration runs through Sept. 16. Users who register will receive PlayK and discount coupons immediately. After the official launch, they will be offered limited-edition skins and Stove-exclusive items. Additional rewards will also be available based on cumulative play time.
'Special Force Remastered' is a game rebuilt on Unreal Engine 5 based on 'Special Force', which Dragonfly released in 2004. Park Cheol-seung (박철승), Dragonfly's executive producer and the original game's developer, led development.
The new title implements combat and control elements from the original, including firing patterns by weapon, the sniper's 'instant zoom' method, diagonal movement and ghost stepping, and changing direction in midair. Popular existing battlefields such as Desert Camp, Satellite and Nerve Gas have also been remade with updated graphics.
New features include a weapon customisation system that combines parts based on weapon level, as well as tactical equipment. Users can receive both Stove pre-registration rewards and event rewards offered on the official website.
